Duties
Under the overall supervision of the UNIDO Project Manager at Headquarter in Vienna and direct supervision of the National Project Coordinators, working with the Project Management Units (PMUs) in the field and with the project team at Headquarter, the National Communication and Visibility Expert fulfils the following duties:
Main Duties:
Development and Implementation of communication and visibility strategy and plans as well as respective action plans for MAMAP. Review and implementation of Communication strategy and plan for PROMOVE
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Plans are carried out, monitored and achieved. Timely implementation, including outreach activities, preparation of promotional material in order to create awareness, visibility, and publicize project results in coordination with the PMUs and HQ

Main Duties:
Manage the database of stakeholders of MAMAP and PROMOVE projects in order to target the right beneficiaries for the communication activities
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Database with stakeholders is maintained up-to-date and effectively used for communication activities.
Main Duties:
Advice and guide project staff on communication matters in the implementation of the different technical activities
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Efficient contribution of project staff to all communication activities
Main Duties:
Provide key information on the project to project staff, stakeholders, collaborating and associated agencies; collect/receive monitoring data from different sources (UNIDO, EU, NORAD etc.) and assist in organizing them in a way that can be processed and analyzed by the project staff
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Support provided on data collection and monitoring on regular basis
Main Duties:
Store and retrieve key information e.g. reports, documents and information on collaborating and associated agencies; Assist in ensuring proper circulation of relevant information to project staff and stakeholders

Key information on collaborating and associated agencies retrieved and stored; relevant information properly circulated among project staff and stakeholders
Main Duties:
Prepare press releases before events to share with media and EU and NORAD communication focal points; write featured articles and contribute to speech writing for the Project Managers and/or the Chief Technical Advisors (CTAs) at major events
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Press releases, articles and speeches prepared and circulated, as required and according to communication plan
Main Duties:
Supervise the development of the MAMAP website, with the selected company according to GMAP communication guidelines. Creation of social media platforms for MAMAP according to GMAP communication guide lines and ensure information and content are regularly updated on all communication platforms in English and Portuguese
Outputs To Be Achieved:
MAMAP website and social media platforms created, on-line and updated. Information on project’s activities regularly available on the website Statistics on website visits and social media hits recorded and disseminated
Main Duties:
Manage the website of PROMOVE project in English and Portuguese. Maintain PROMOVE”s social media accounts up-to-date in both English and Portuguese
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Operational and updated website as well as social media accounts. Information on project’s activities regularly available on the website Statistics on website visits and social media hits recorded and disseminated
Main Duties:
Ensure and coordinate media coverage at national level for MAMAP and PROMOVE
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Press articles and coverage available on the main projects’ activities (monthly clipping reports for each project)
Main Duties:
Prepare regular advocacy and visibility materials, visualize and develop new visibility material (posters, newsletters, banners, roll-ups, calendars, office stationary and additional material as needed following MAMAP and PROMOVE’s visual identities). Prepare project success stories and propose any other activities to enhance project impact
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Advocacy and visibility material developed following the projects’ visual identities developed as per the UNIDO and EU and Norad visibility guidelines. The projects are well known through advocacy and visibility actions.
Main Duties:
Coordinate the making of any audiovisual production on the project covering the whole implementation period for PROMOVE and MAMAP
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Audiovisual productions on the project are available and disseminated
Main Duties:
Coordinate the design and timely dissemination of promotional material on both projects (e.g. newsletters, informative brochures, fact sheets, folders etc.)
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Promotional material largely and regularly disseminated
Main Duties: Define, follow and enforce the editorial policy for the projects publications, including translation standards, copyright policy as well as other legal disclaimers, both in English and in Portuguese
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Editorial policy enforced for MAMAP and PROMOVE
Main Duties:
Liaise with the communication department of the EU delegation in Maputo, Norwegian Embassy in Maputo, UNIDO Headquarter in Vienna and the communications officials of MIC and MIMAIP to increase the impact of the projects’ communication strategies
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Coordination ensured for enhanced communication. Adequate credit to the EU and Norad is ensured for all outputs
Main Duties:
Ensure Projects’ gender indicators are met and that activities are in line with UNIDO’s gender policy guidelines
Outputs To Be Achieved:
Activities are in conformity with UNIDO’s gender policy guidelines and respective indicators are monitored on a regular basis
Main Duties:
Any other ad hoc task related to the overall work plan of the project and as specified by the Project Managers and the Chief Technical Advisors (CTAs)

Requisites
Education:
Advanced university degree in the fields of communication, business administration, journalism, public relations, marketing or equivalent
Technical and Functional Experience:
At least five (5) years of proven experience in the development and management of communication strategies and plans, media campaign management, technical writing and editing, event conception and management as well as customer relationship management
Excellent communication skills – written, editorial and spoken
Excellent IT skills (usual software as MS Software and internet)
Strong social media skills and ability to rapidly analyze and integrate diverse information from varied sources
Ability to work in network and to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
Language: Native speaker of Portuguese and fluency in English
